The Glasgow Corporation has decided to undertake its own accident insurance in connection with the tramways, the companies having increased the premium from £II,OOO to £31,500 since 1908. The experience of Glasgow and Leeds has shown that selfinsurance is sixty per cent, cheaper than company insurance.
