A QUIET GAME OF “SNAP.”
Gveymouth, April 27. At '■ the Magistrate’s Court to-day, Robert Knight, licensee of the Trafalgar Hotel, was charged with allowing gambling on bis premises. A constable, seeing a light in the bar at J. 15 a.in. on Friday, made investigations. He entered by the top storey and came downstairs. He found do-, fondant in a room watching tju’eo men playing “snap" poker,” and money on the table. A conviction was, recorded, with a fine of £7. The license was not endorsed, as the players wore all boarders, and this was, a firfjt offtjiiop.
