THE TAPAWERA CAMP. £Peb Peesb Association.] Nelson, April 28. • The work of the Territorials in camp at Tapawera has now commenced in earnest. It comprises the tenth mounted regiment and a section of the field ambulance. Field work was carried out, in preparation for a sham battle with the co-operation of all troops for General Hamilton’s visit on Monday, May 4th. Colonel Chaffey is in charge. There has been much rain experienced, bu£ all the men made the best ,of it, and played the game. Eleven hundred men are under canvas. All arrangements were carried out in excellent order by Captains Avery and Thoms.
