THE POOR EDITOR!
Sample of a contribution to the editor picked at random from the mail. It shows how the election affects some people! To-morrow is election day, And Stratford with its bright array fj One and all will wend their way— To the polling booth to have their say. Cr. King has been Some 3 or 4 sears ago; But genial Bill has got a will, To put up a jolly good show! Upon the platform, Kirkwood stood, And slated Cr. King; And King replied in ugly mood, And denied ’most everything! He said he had some fifty pounds In the Electrical “Combine” But Billy Kirkwood poked around, And found he had (shares) 89! ; To-night the Hall will surely ring; So get an early seat, For is it not a night for King? ' To save him from defeat! To-morrow you are asked to vote— So use your own discretion ; The thing we most sincerely hope Will be the town’s progression!
