toko club resuscitate#. An enthusiastic .meeting of tho Toko Football Club, which has been dormant for several seasons, was Ijeld in tie Coronation Hall on Saturday evening, Mr Geo. Morrison presiding, with an attendance of thirty members. The following officers was elected; Patron, Mr J. B. Hine, M.P.president, Mr A. Piper; vice-presidents, Messrs C. Bayly, Evan Jones, J. Kilpatrick, Geo. Morrison and M. Gernhoefer; auditor, Mr Geo. Morrison; delegate, Mr J. Giilick (a former secretary of tho Alambra club, Dunedin); management committee, Messrs Alex Ferguson, G. E. Bocock, C. Mather, J. Kilpatrick and E. Burgham ; secretary and treasurer, Mr R. D. Milne. A lengthy discussion ensued over a letter received from tho VVhanga Club re forming the East Road clubs into a sub-union under tho Taranaki Rugby Union, It was decided to give the scheme the Club’s support by calling a meeting of delegates in order to bring the- matter to a successful issue.
Permission from the Domain Board for tbo use of the ground is being asked. When the improvements of filling in a deep gully, now almost completed, are finished, a regulationsized field second to none in the district will be available. Every effort will be made to put the interests of i lie Club and the Rugby game in this district on a solid footing, both physically and financially. A practice ‘ match is to be held on Thursday, when a good muster is anticipated.
