Last year the Taranaki Hockey Association forwarded a guinea with a challenge to the holders (Wanganui), hut within a week Waikato had defeated Wanganui and taken the shield, so all Taranaki could do was to wait for this season. Kaponga's request for permission to run a tourney was granted for April 23rd. The following girls will represent the Stratford Hockey Club at the seven-a-sido tournament to ho held at Kapouga to-morrow:— Misses G. Sangster, A. Fryday, M. Curtis, M. Paget, 0. Curtis, C. Fryday and E. Howson. The following will represent the Stratford Hockey Club at a seven-a-side tournament at Kaponga to-mor-row:— Morgan, W. Synie, A. Wheeler, L. Curtis. Sergeant, W. Bowler, Thomson. Cars leave at 12.30 sharp.
