The monthly meeting of the ahov was-held at Hawera on Thursday, whoj there were present: Messrs A. Hun teiv (president), A. E. Washer, R. Dunn, E. .Maxwell, E. Marfell, J. Thomson, It. Lambie, .). S. Barrow. CI. Capper, .J. Swindlehurst, J. Davidson and W. D. Willis. * 'The Lowgarth, Riverlea, To Roti, Dpunake, Patea and Ngaere branches .vroto stating that they were in favor of a provincial organiser. The H>.,vera branch did not approve of fch< proposal for an organiser. The following remits for the provinial conference to lie held at Patea .verc submitted and approved, viz. - That the Agricultural Department l>< iskod to bring before auctioneers the lesirableness of prohibiting the pending of bulls at saleyards with stock itbor than that of the owner: that lie Noxious Weeds' Act be enforced ; hat the Prime Minister be asked for i copy of the proposed Local Governnent Bill as soon as it is available; hat all monies paid to the State For and bo classified as improvements; hat the Minister of Agriculture be equested to introduce the semi-official esting of grade cows and at a lesser ! ee than that charged for purebreds ; bat owing to the great change in the neans of transit brought about by be general use of motor traction, it ie strongly urged on the Government lie necessity of increasing the subsidy o local bodies for the formation and naintenance of main roads, such sub;idy to be granted only in proportion ,o expenditure incurred; that the exeutive cannot see any valid reason why noney invested in land should he taxd differently to money invested in >tlier industries; that it be a recor* nendation to the Dominion Executive o distribute to all members of the Tnion a report of the annual conference.
