Colonel Walker's Bill in the House of Commons prohibiting the exportation of worn-out horses has led to petitions to Belgian authorities. The Bill, seriously affects the poor, who can only afford horseflesh. Twenty-six thousand seven hundred and fifty horses were consumed in 1913. Senator Bandeberg suggests legislation to admit frozen meats from the British Colonies.
