"The Slickest Piece.”
OF NEW ZEALAND BUTTER. AMERICAN APPRECIATION. '[Per Press Association.] New Plymouth, April 15. A letter just received by Mr E. Griffiths, local dairy produce merchant, from Boston, states that New Zealand butter has completely revolutionised the butter industry of the Pacific Coast and Middle, and has put Californian shutter out of repute. It is very much liked, also' in New York. The only drawback is that some lots have contained traces of preservaline. The writer states that one lot of New Zealand butter bought in New York was “the slickest piece of butter ho ever saw. Its magnificent velvety texture and perfectly clean flavor has taken the conceit out of some of our butter people, who have always had the idea that they knew all about the butter business, but it is very evident we can get points from New Zealand.” He predicts greatly increased trade when the Panama Canal opens.
