A CLEVER SURGEON.
ONE OF HIS EXPERIMENTS. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] New York, April 12. Doctor Alexis Carrel, the eminent French-American surgeon, described the latest surgical experiments before the American Surgical Association. He said he had clamped a pedicle of a subject's heart, and stopped the circulation for throe minutes, during which lie performed a rapid operation upon the aorta. He then undamped the pedicle and allowed the circulation to resume. The operation was successful. Dr. Carrel said that he thought an operation of a similar character on human bsings was quite possible as a euro for valvular diseases of the heart.
