STRATFORD GOLF CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING TO-NIGHT.

The annual meeting of the Stratford Golf Club is to be held in the Borough Council Chambers to-night, commencing at 8 o’clock. The following report is to he presented:— Your committee have pleasure in presenting its annual report, and in so doing desire to state that the year has been most successful in all ways. At the beginning of the season the Club’s debit at the bank was £25 15s Id, and the credit balance at the end of the year was £3 7s 4d. The assets of the club are shown at £83.9s 10d. and its liabilities are £3 18s, leaving a surplus of £79 11s lOd, The financial position of the club now is such that the bank guarantee can be cancelled, and the thanks of the club are due to those members who assisted the club iu this respect. The standard of play throughout the season was better than usual and this is accounted for no doubt by the. fact that the links and greens were in a better condition than in previous years and also that the members, who, after allowing for 15 resignations, increased from 71 to 80, were very keen and enthusiastic.

The club played four inter-club matches and won three of them. The men’s championship was won by Mr Ritchie, while Mr W. J. Crawshaw annexed the challenge trophy for the best aggregate. Miss Orbell won the ladies’ championship and Miss F. Orbell won the best aggregate trophy.

Your committe have to thank those Hatties who on several occasions managed the social arrangements of the Club and to those members who donated trophies.
