NEW PLYMOUTH V. STRATFORD. The Stratford representatives, to the number of five rinks were severely drubbed at New Plymouth yesterday, the totals being 122 to 63. However, a very enjoyable day was spent by all, of which the vice-president (Mr Gr. Smart) made special mention at the usual speech-making on the conclusion of the game. Mr Smart extended an invitation to New Plymouth to play a return match at Stratford on Easter Monday. Mr W. J. Penn replied on behalf of the home club. Following are the scores, New Plymouth being,mentioned first-in eacli rink:— Morrison, Phillips, Medley, A. K. Smart (s) 30; C. Jackson, Evans, Porritt, McMillan (s) 6. C. Rundle, Chaney,, Firth, H. Smart (s) 17; v. Bickerton, Rogers, Sharp, G. Smart (s) 10. J. Avery, McKellar, Morey, S. Rundle (s) 24; v. Young, Penn, Drake, Morison (s) 20. Watkins, Ewing, Fookes, Hail (s) 25; v. Edgecombe, Ewan Jackson, Martin, King (s) 16. Wood, Jenkinson, Penn, Harrison (s) 26; v. Masters, Wilson, McDonald, Sangster (s) 10. Totals: New Plymouth 122, Stratford 68. Hawera defeated Patea on Wednesday by 90 to 40. The match took place at Hawera.
