The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford branch, report as follows: On Tuesday, 24th inst., we held our usual fortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when there was a fair yarding of 455 cattle and 327 sheep. There was a good attendance of the public and a fair clearance was effected. Weaners did -not sell so well as recently, but having several buyers present, we effected good business in this line. Empty and in calf heifers are not sought after, but steers of fair quality are in demand. The following prices were realised :—Weaners mixed small and weedy 11s, to 21s for medium, 28s Cd for fair quality, weaner steers in better demand than heifers 24s Cd for small to 28s, 30s for fair, to 83s for good lines, weaner heifers showing color small 14s Cd to 245, 27s Cd for medium to 29s to 31s Cd for well grown stuff, cows fat in demand at 120 s, 130 s to 1355, store cows not so good 45s for small and poor to 745, 795, but for anything showing youth and size good prices wore realised 90s Cd, 97s 6cl to 100 b, bulls 85s, small yearlings to 85s, 955, 102 s Cd, 105 s and 132 s Cd, 20-month steers front 67s to 765," 20mouth heifers, ordinary sorts 50s to 58s 6d, cull lambs 4s Id, 4s 4d for small to 8s Cd for fair lines, cull ewes Is 3d for cully /to 11s Id for medium lines. We have put through a fair amount of business during the week, in wean- , erg and grown steers, to both local and outside havers. 20-month steers

665, 71s, 72k Cd to 80s to 82s Cel for a nice line, forward ewes up to 14s, lambs 8s to 8s 3d and 9s 3d, i-ycar-old ewes cully Ss to 9s Cd, store cows small from 44» to 60s.
