MR NEWTON'S COMPLAINT.
‘CHAUFFEUR’S” SUGGESTION. [To The Editor Stratford Post.] Sir, —Re complaint by a Mr Newton.—ls this tho Mr, Newton A.M.1.E.E., who was prosecuted for running into a train at Fenton Street ? If so, I would suggest he be examined
for a driver’s license.—l am, etc., CHAUFFEUR
[To The Editor .Stratford Post.] Sir,—lt is a well known fact that Mr Walter J. Newton, manager of the Electrical Supply Company, is bitterly opposed to me, and is a strong supporter of my opponent in the coming Mayoral election, Mr N. J. King, late Chairman of Directors of tho Company your correspondent is managing. The whole object of your correspondent in voicing his complaints through the press is to discredit me in the eyes of the electors, but his attempt in this direction is a most clumsy one. Ho would have shown more good taste and displayed better judgment had he placed his complaints before (the Council in the usual way, or, being in close touch with Cr. King, who is Chairman of the Works Committee, lie might have made representations to that gentleman, who would, no doubt, have brought the matters complained of under the notice of his colleagues. With Mr Walter J. Newton as a supporter, Mr King may with reason exclaim: “Save me from my friends.”—l am, etc.,
W. P. Kirkwood, Mavor
