REDUCING the charges.
AN AUSTRALIAN SUGGESTION.

The Telegraph, in a leader, referring to Mr -Rhodes’ statement that the Pacific cable stands unused during the day, suggests that a system of cheap midday cables would meet the needs of private persons, thus encouraging an even distribution of messages all day. Then there would be no excuse for not reducing rates and keeping them reduced.
NEW ZEALAND CONCESSIONS.
London, March 25
At a meeting of the Pacific Cable Board, Mr Nathan moved the rejection of the concession in Die New Zealand rates. The discussion was deferred at Mr Bahington Smith’s instance.
