Benton's Death.
NOT DUE TO THE PISTOL.
PROBABLY STABBED. [By Electric Telegraph—CopVßiam]! [D jITED Prebb ASSOCIATION.] ,---. (Received Noon.) New York, March 23. The British Consul at Galvesto.i (Mr C. A. Spencer Percival) reports that investigation has'disclosed that Mr Benton's death was not due to pistol shots. Mr Percival does not state the exac t cause of death, but it is believed he wishes to infer Mr Benton died of stab wounds.
The report adds, that Mr Benton appeared* before General Villa unarmed.
