A MAN DROWNED.

Friday night’s deluge caused .many thousands of pounds’ damage and one death. The rain was the fiercest for thirtv-six years.
Seventy points fell in minutes, and the streets were turned into rushing torrents. Water Invaded shops and houses.
Thirty trams were derailed ’in different 'parts of the city and suburbs.
An ancient aboriginal burying ground at Manly was unearthed, and bones and skulls were exposed. A man named Knight was driving home to Parramatta. The storm water washed the horse into a creek, and Knight was drowned. Steady rain has been almost continuous since the storm. NEARLY SIX INCHES OF RAIN. COUNTRY GREATLY BENEFITTED

From Friday to nine o’clock last night 579 points of rain fell in Sydney, which is seventy points above the average in March. It is still raining. The country districts are greatly benefitted.
