Ellis has been sentenced to death with a recommendation to mercy on account of his youth.

DESTRUCTIVE CYCLONE.

A cyclone occurred at RostovOndon, claiming 3200 victims. 1 In a fishing settlement, 400 houses were swept away.; Fears are expressed for the safety of the Astrakan fishing fleets, with their crews of 10,000 men. ■ Striking phenomena were observed. There was complete darkness, hut in places a rosy sky. Mud and rain disfigured houses, and a frost ruined orchards. There was blinding lightning, without thunder.
