EIGHT CAPTAINS FINED £llOO. The prohibited immigrant is ever i source of worry to the shipmaster from overseas (says the Sydney Daily Telegraph). At the Water Police Court on Wednesday of last week, nght master mariners werp lined in ill £llOO, under the provisions of the Immigration Restriction Act of 1901- : 906, for allowing prohibited immigrants to enter the Commonwealth. Inspector John Thomas Lamphin Donohoe, of the Customs Department, was the complainant, and the AM., Mr C. N. Day ten, fined each master £IOO for each offence as follows : Captain H. S. Williams, of the Inverbernie, £3OO. / Captain G. B. M'Gill, of the Kumeric, £2OO. Captain O. J. Kydd, of the Strathairly, £IOO. Captain F. J. Roberts, of the vtrathdee, £IOO. Captain H. L. Norris, of the Strathless, £IOO. Captain G. H. C. Weston, of the R.M.S. Maloja, £IOO. Captain D. M‘ln tyre, of the Stratliird/ £IOO. ■ . • Captain L. Harbord, of the Madman, £IOO. V
