LATE LOCALS.
Mrs Childs received first and special prize for decorated go-cart' at yesterday's Carnival. Clem Smith,, who has taken over Mr Donald-s. cab business, will always be found at the Post Office. Orders may be left at the Crown Stables. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency, .Co., Ltd., Stratford, have just received advice from their Hasting's branch that they cured numerous prizes for the principal lines of grass-seeds at the Hastings show, as follows:—Hawke's Bay ryegrass "Ist, 2nd and v.h.c.; Italian ryegrass, Ist and 2nd; cocksfoot, Ist and 2nd; cowgrass, Ist and 2nd. Also first for the following:— Chewing Fescue, Danthonia, Alsike, Cape'Barley, Oats, White Tartar, Oats -Tartar King, Chevalier Barley, White Clover, 2nd and 3rd.
