CRICKET. AUSTRALIA v. SOUTHLAND. |Peb Press Association. I Invercargill, March 11. The cricket match between Southland and Australia was concluded today in brilliant weather and before a big attendance. Southland in their tirst innings put up 156, and Australia, responded with a score of 709, centuries being made by Cody, Collins, McKenzie, and Trumper. A feature of the innings was the brilliant display by Trumper (211). He scored freely all round the wicket, but gave a chance early in his score, but this was not accepted. From that' point the home team was given an afternoon's leather-hunting. Trumper hoisted his eenh'r.- in 80 minutes. At this stage the batsmen were content to take nothing but lours, and changes in bowling were useless. Six hundred runs wen' hoisted in 6 hours 30 minutes. Trumpev get his second century in 105 minutes, and was caught in longfiold at 637. The "gate" ,to-day totalled £lO2. Scores:_
