The pupils of the Pembroke Road School had a pleasant outing at Ngaere yesterday. The children were taken down by Mr Aldridge, the parents driving down separately.

The will of the late Mrs S. A. Rhodes, after providing for legacies from- £4OOO downward for relatives, leaves £4OO to the St.,John's Nursing Guild; £SOO to,the St. John's Ambulance Association, £SOO to the Y.W. C.A., £IOOO to the Wellington Boys' Institute, and ■ smaller amounts to other institutions. The residue is to be divided equally between the Victoria College for the education of women and the trustees of the Boys' Institute.
