SINGLE WOMAN'S DEATH.
[PIB P&ESa ASSOCIATION.] Auckland, March 11. A young woman named Connie Bane was admitted to the hospital on Monday evening, and died, u few hours later. A post mortem examination disclosed the fact that suspicious circumstances were connected with the (Jeath, and the inquest was adjourned-. Deceased was single, and a native of mvercargill. A FIREMAN'S FATAL FALL. Christchurch, March 11. At about 10.15 this morning a man was found at the foot ot the i mbankment in Simeon Quay, Lytel-;->n, close to the buildings of the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company. The man, who was identified as Colin Campbell, a fireman, was picked up in a semi-con ondition, and removed to the, casually ward. He was found to be suffer. ; ng from a compound fracture of the ■ight arm, and was in a very weak state from exposure, having apparently lain out all night. The embankment over which'the unfnrtunat" .nan fell was about 40 feet high. He is believed to be a single man, and ■•o far as is known has no relatives a the Dominion. Campbell died from his injuries at about ton minutes to twelve.
