Wallalo, the winner of the Essendon Stakes, weight-i'or-age, at the V.K.C. meeting on Saturday, was ridden by the crack Taranaki jockey, Hector Gray, who went over' specially to rido this horse in his race for the Australian Cup- to-day. Gray jvas not long in scoring a victory after landing in Australia.
Three of the girl probationers being trained at tho Stratford School sat for the University examination, held ir November last, in mathematics, and word is just through from London that they have all passed. The examination set and the standard required is that for the B.A. degree. We congratulate Misses Gernhoefer, Lau and Wyllie on their splendid work. Their succefes is another proof of the efficiency of the Stratford School.
