DOMINION NEWS.

RUST-RESISTING OATS. [Per Presb Association.] Auckland, March 1. Perhaps one of the greatest results achieved from the distribution of small parcels of rust-resisting oats seed has been obtained by a Whatawhata farmer. He received a poundweight parcel of seed, and planted it in carefully prepared land, from which he reaped over 1001 bof firstclass oats. The threshing of this oat, so far as the Ruakura State Farm is concerned, lias produced 3000 bushels, and has averaged 80 bushels to the acre. This marvel, lous result has sprung from one plant discovered in the centre of a rustinfected area years ago. AXEMEN'S CARNIVAL. Auckland, March 1.
