A TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE.
SHIPWRECK SURVIVOR ON A WAVE-WASHED ROOK. (By Electric Telegraph--OocYniGinJ (United Press Association.! Loudon, February 21. The Norwegian vessel Mexico, was stranded at Salt Sea in a tempest. Two of the crew got ashore badly injured. The lifeboat from Fethard was driven to sea)'and likW hot been seen since. Another from Kilmore was smashed against the Mexico’s side. The occupants boarded the Mexico, which threatens to break up. Three lifeboats were near the Mexico throughout the entire day. The crew, except four who were drowned, took refuge on a wave-washed rock. The Fethard lifeboat capsized at midnight, and three were drowned. Eleven clung to the boat till they were washed on to a rock exhausted. It is expected that the Mexico’s men and the lifeboat crew will eventually be rescued. A DOLEFUL OUTLOOK. (Received 10.15 a.m.) London, February 22. The survivors of the schooner Mexico spent a terrible night on a rock, being without food since Friday. There are no signs of the gale abating, and it is feared that they will succumb before their rescue is possible.
