A DOCTOR APPOINTED. BY HIGH COMMISSIONER. Mr J. B. Hine, M.P. for Stratford, telegraphed as follows from New Plymouth this morning:— "The Hon. R, H. Rhodes telegraphs : 'The High Commissioner reports that Dr. Frank Mitchcock has been appointed for Whangamomona. I will be glad if you will secure necessary accommodation for himself, wife and one child. Will' telegraph date of his departure and expected arrival as son as possible.'. This should be good news for the backblocks."
