CONFERENCE AT CHRISTCHURCH [Per Press Association. 1 Christchurch, February 20. The conference of the New Zealand Locomotive Enginedrivers, Firemen and Cleaners' Association resumed today. Discussing the proposed alterations to the constitution, including proposals to alter the manner in which the executive is appointed and the removal of the headquarters from Christchurch to Wellington. In the course of tho discussion, the president, Mr G. Kennedy, reviewed the results of the operations of the present constitution, and put the mater of the proposed re-organisation fairly before the conference in a non-com-mittal'way. The scheme was put out by four votes to six. The Grand Council intends taking into consideration the question of placing the general secretary's position on a permanent basis, the idea being that the secretary should devote his services entirely to the Association.
