in 4)» [Per Press Association.] Wanganui, February 18. A married man, named Claude Woodcock; of Mosstown, had his chest seriously crushed while working in the L'reezing chamber at Castlecliff to-day. He was removed to the hospital. Blenheim, February 18. Charles Turner, a farmer,* aged 4.5 to 50, committed suicide by hanging this morning at Caurastown. He .had justtake;] over a farm at the Sounds. The reason for the rash act is v unknown. Auckland, February 18. U A middle-aged Maori, named Toko Wii'ihane, whose wife is away from home, was found dead in bed in Cross Street by a laborer named John Perry. at,.7.15 a.m. to-day. Toko was lying in a double lied with the blankets soaked in blood, while a blood-stained razor was found near the body. The jugular vein had been severe'd, and' there were two short, ddep wounds in the neck. Last night Toko seemed calm and collected, and gave no intimation that he contemplated taking his life.
