Viscount Murray, after declaring that all his .Marconi transactions had been already disclosed, admitted he made an error ofjudgment in purchasi% Americans on his own account through the company he was not mi ierested'in. The Post Office contract's purchase for the Liberal Party was also an error of judgment, though he regarded it as a pure investment. His colleagues were not aware of his purchase and he did not inform Mr Uling(the Liberal whip) because owing to the scandal he preferred to bear the responsibility himself. He admitted that,his actions were not wise, but he expressed regret. Amphtill's motion to set up a committee to inquire into Viscount Murray's transactions was postponed at iLord Lansdowne's suggestion.
