In the libel action in* which Major Adam is suing Colonel Sir Edward Ward, late secretary of the War Offico, Ward, in his evidence, said it was bis duty to circulate to the newspapers whatever the Army Council desired. French, in evidence, said he did not consider Adam possessed a cavalry leader's essential qualities.
