THE MOUNTAIN HOUSE.
« —, BIG CROWD YESTERDAY. Over a hundred people visited tin East Egmont Mountain House yesterlay, one of the attractions being tin iSltham Brass Band which rendered m excellent programme of music. The visitors journeyed up by various neans, two motor cars being among the vehicles used. The recently-formed Mountain Club j ivas, naturally, in evidence. Tei .'Members went from the House to the top, down over Fantham's Peak, dowr to the Falls House and then back to the East House. The trip was mainly an exploring one, with the object of finding the best route to the top, and this route will later oi' be marked. Two juvenile members of the club put up good walks. Out ! went from Stratford and one from Midhirst, both reaching the top of the Mountain. ! The material is now on the ground for the fencing of the mud portion of Pembroke Road, and this should tend to ensure this stretch of road Keeping in good order. The suggestion is made that the Mountain Club should do what it can to improve the horse paddock by increasing its size, thus enabling vehicles to be placed on the nearer portion of the paddock.
