[Pee Press Association.] Hastings, February 6. For the int'erprovincial match, Hawke’s Bay v Wellington, the weather was fine and the wicket good, and the attendance was. moderate. Fulton, the Hawke’s Bay captain, won and elected to bat. Board and Creed going to the wickets at 11 o’clock punctually, Saunders opening the bowling. Board scored 19 off Grimmeett’s first (over. Board was very severe on Grimmett, and was scoring most of the runs. Saunders was no-balled three times for going over the crease. Board had a narrow escape of being run out, Bowler failing to take the return. With 53 on the board, Board played Faunders on after making 40 in good style. Three runs later Creed was bowled by Grimmett (10). Sixty went up after 45 minutes’ batting, Fulton and Hindmarch shaping well. Scores: Board, b Saunders, 40; Creed, b Grimmett, 10;-Fulton, c Quinn, b Harris, 26; Hindmarsh, b Beechy, 50; Ellis, not out, 40; Blamires (not out) 30; extras, 10. The total for four wickets was 207 at the lunch adjournment. ‘ / AUSTRALIA v. AUCKLAND.
