The Taviuui arrived from sent hen ports early yesterday morning with G7i tons of general cargo. She got swa.\ last evening for Westport and Greynfouth.

'Die Regains, which arrived from Westport yesterday morning, was n;iahle to complete the discharge of hei cargo of coal. Discharging operations will be recommenced this morning. The Petone, with about 750 tons of coal, arrived from Westport yesterday afternoon. She will discharge to-day The Corinna is to leave Nelson this evening for New Plymouth and is duo to-morrow morning.

DIRECT FROM HULL. 51 r Newton King lias just completed the charter, through the - Shaw, Savill and Albion Company, London, of the steamer Wotan, to load at Hull for New Plymouth. The Wotan, which was built in 1907, is a steel turret-deck steamer, of just under 4000 tons register, her length being •350 ft. She will thus be the biggest vessel to berth at the Now Plymouth wharf. The cargo, which will total •»000 tons, consists mainly of Leeds basic slag, superphosphate, and a

quantity ol dairy salt. According to present arrangements the Wotan should leave Hull early in March, and arrive here in May.
