MONTHLY MEETING. At to '-5 monthly meeting of the Vara uiki Land Hoard on Wednesday applications for permission to transfer .and were dealt witli as follows; Win. Goodwin applied to transfer section 9, block 11, Uhura, 125 U acres, to 11. Goodwin. —Approved. H. and T. Marfcll applied to transfer section 1, block 11, Mahoe, 428 acres, to T. IMarlelli—Approved. A. M. Henderson applied to transfer section 24, block 1(1, Jiuiroa. Jill acres 2r. Kip. and section “23 J block l(!, Hniroa, 113 acres. 191 acres 2r Lp ,oth in Cllindon Settlement, to Jas. .Me. I. U. Lockhead, at Ll2 per acre. —Approved, subject to the noxious weeds conditions. C. T. Thomas applied to transfer sub-lease of Education reserve lease, section pt, 109, block 2, Xgaire, 100 acres Or 22p., to M. J. Lepper.—Approved. Mni. Hly applied to transfer section 12, I dock 11, Ngaire, 172 acres, to E. J. Major.—. Deferred till next meeting. Leases. It was resolved to re-offer section 3, block 11, Mahoo, 907 acres, formerly aeld by W. H. Jones, under part 3, it the. same valuation. It was resolved to grant J. J. Thomason a lease of section 19, block 5, fangitu, 3 acres Ir Bp, school site, nngazetted, for live years at a rental
of 3s per annum. It was resolved to let on temporary lease to Hopkirk section 29, block 2, Ngatimarn, Cemetery Reserve,i formerly hold under public reserve lease (area 19 acres).
It was resolved that sections 3, o, 7,8, etc. Tarata, be re-offered for lease it a rental of £4 5s per annum for ten .ears. General. Section 84, block 10, Pouatu, 95 teres, is a piece of Crown Land. Applications have been made for it as .’a rio.us times/ and declined by the Board. The area is likely to ho affected by the railway. There was a proposal to reserve the section for scenic purposes. Settlers- have applied for parts of the land. It has been decided that the land is not suitable for scenic imposes, and it is suggested that the Board should offer the land for sale. —Consideration deferred.
Applications for the issue of licenses for the following pieces of land hold under an improved farm agreement, vore approved:—Section 2.3, block 1, Tangitn, F. W. Hose; section 7, block 2, Tangitn, I). H. Morey; section 10, block 1, Tangitn, C. Fitzgerald. Ranger Twiss reported that all the settlers in the Tariki settlement were residing except H. C. S. Bonlcott, lessee of section G, block 5, Hniroa.
The issue of a deferred payment license for section 2, block 2, Mahoe, 231 acres 3r. 22p., held by Laurence Smith on lease in perpetuity, was approved. Messrs Flay and Irons, jnnr., who held section 7, block 15, Omona, 1087 acres, had ‘effected improvements to the value of £1007) but were a little short of full requirements.—lt was resolved to grant them' time to complete. : • ' .
*’ i' «r H.- C, S. Boulcott, lessee of section 6, block 5y Huiroa, Tariki settlement, enquired whether he might take in a partner. He»lias been advised of the provisions of section 87' of the Land Act, 1908, and warned that he should fulfil the conditions of his lease in order to qualify for a partnership at the legal date.—The action was confirmed, and the lessee was given one month in which to make satisfactory arrangements to reside.
