LORD STRATHCONA.

When Parliament opened Mr Borden (Premier) paid a tribute to Lord Strathcona. He said he was a great Imperial figure, and saw Canada transformed from a small people to the greatest Dominion under the British flag. Sir Wilfred Laivrier referred to Lord Strathcona's splendid ability which lead to the construction of tin: transcontinental railway across the Dominion in the face of innumerable difficulties. Mr Borden, on behalf of the Canadian people, sent a message to the deceased's relatives.
Sir G. Tapper will probably repre sent Canada at the funeral. The House adjourned as a mark o respect.
