Among the tables submitted to the Dominions Commission was a return showing the manner in which loans of tho various States of the Commonwealth wore disbursed to June 30th, 1012, as follows:—Railways, tramways, i;168,lo0,283; water supply, sewerage, £36,757,148; harbours, rivers, lighthouses, '£23,391,097; land purchase, loans to settlers £13,0-18,728; public buildings, £10,787,890; roads, bridges, £'5,189,524; telegraphs, £4,224,733; immigration, £3,681,020; de-, fence- £2,389,782; development of mineral resources, £1,504,985; other works," £6,386,181; total, £275,508,261.
