Atlantic Blizzard.
THE WRECKED COBEQUID.
VESSEL BREAKING UP. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyrightj [United Press Association.] Ottawa, January 1-1. In response to the wireless calls, four steamers came' to the assistance of the Cobequid. Rough seas drove the Cobequid on a reef of Trinity Rock, off Port Mainland, and, under the battering of great rollers, she has now begun to break up.
The wireless operators continued to call till water entered the engine room, when they stopped. Darkness and the blizzard combined rendered the rescue of the passengers and crew difficult, but all entered the boats safely, with the exception of the captain and eleven men, who remain aboard in the hope of salvage, should the weather moderate.
Ottawa, January 1-1. Vessels rescued all the Cobequid's crew and passengers.
