TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB.

i The Taranaki Jockey Club's autumn meeting is fixed this year for February 11th and 12th. Owners and trainers are specially reminded that nominations for all events close with the secretary, Mr E. P. Webster, at 9 p.m. to 7 morrow (Friday) January 16th. The programme is an attractive one, the principal event being the Taranaki Cup, of SOOsovs. All the remaining events offer substantial prizes. OPUNAKE RACING CLUB. The following officers were elected at the annual meeting on Saturday night:—President, Mr A. Good; vicepresidents, Messrs A. Clarke, M. J. Brennan, J. P. Burton, S. Forsyth, W, K. Connell, A. Lusk, R: P. Malcolm, A. R. Moore. E. B. Stohr, C. L. Kaspar, J. M. Hickey ; judge, Mr W. V. Young; starter, Mr A. Morse; clerk of the scales, Mr D. Markham; clerk of the course, Mr G. Newsham; handicapper, Mr G. Morse; timekeepers, Messrs W. J. Knell and E. B. Stohr; treasurer, Mr A. Clarke; hon. surgeon, Dr. Dunlop Barron; stewards, Messrs J. M. Hickey, A. Good, A. Clarke, M. Callander, G. Newsham, M. J. Brennan, J. McDavitt, D. J. Hughes, J. P. Burton, D. Campbell, Jas. Young, R. P. Malcolm, S. Forsyth, W. Edwards, A. Liisk, T. Corjkill, C. L. Kaspar, G. W. Rogers, E. 18. Stohr.

At a meeting of the committee Mr S. Forsyth was elected chairman. "

Mr G. W. Rogers resigned his position as secretary, Mr P. S. Riley being appointed in his stead.

JOCKEY'S LICENSES SUSPENDED

Wanganui, January 15

The Wanganui Jockey Club Ims suspended the following jockey's licenses in connection with the meetings mentioned: Arthur Oliver, one month from 26th December, 1913 (Palmerston Xorth); Wm. Hurle, three months from Ist January, 1914 (Marton) ; T. Pritchard, three months from 26th December, 1913 (Palmerston Xorth); A. McMillan, three months from 26th December, 1913 (Palmerston North).

A Sydney cablegram states that Red Corn, the hurdle racer, has been sold to a Melbourne sportsman for 1000 guineas. Red Corn was purchased for 100 guineas. He started nine times and won five.
