The Evening Mail understands that at this afternoon's meeting ..of the Hospital and Charitahle Aid Board, a letter will he received from Mr 1Cawthron, donor of the Solar Observatory, giving £15,000 for a new hospital. With the Government sudsidy of £33,000 which will he available for the purpose, it is, understood this is the largest gift to any puhlic body in-New Zealand' that has been given during a life time.
