PREPARING FOR ERUPTION

Mr Frederick IJurliugham, representative of the British Kinemato-
graphers' Company, who recently descended 1200 ft. into Mt. Vesuvius to secure films, states that the volcano is undoubtedly preparing for another eruption.
The walls are structurally weak, and the lava will break through and destroy the side, hut there is an abyss two miles deep-into which it rushes with a hollow roar, throwing up dense clouds of incandescent pink smoke.
