SHACKLETON EXPEDITION

THE MARCH ARRANCEMENTS.

London, January 13

Sir Ernest Shackleton states that night and day does not exist in the Polar regions.

During the expedition a four-hour march will be followed by an hour list, and another similar march will be followed by a similar rest. Sleeping time will bo shortened to eight hours.

No stimulants, excepting tea and coffee, will bo taken. Tea will he taken at midday to refresh the party, and cocoa will be taken at night to preserve the body heat during sleep.

A VOTE OF £IOOO.
