ON THE UPPER MURRAY (N.S.W.) ENORMOUS LOSSES.
[By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Fries Association.] (Received 9.25 a.m.) Sydney, January 13. Extensive damage was ‘done by bush fires in the Upper Murray Country. They were the most severe since the terrific fires of nine years ago. Twenty miles of fire were going for a week. One dairyman lost 30 cows and others were entirely burnt out. At Wantagong it is still unchecked. It is estimated that the losses amount to tens of thousands.
