Evidence was given at tlio Calumet disaster inquest that a man wearing a membership badge of the Citizen’s Alliance, which' endeavoured to suppress the recent strike, shouted “Fire!” Other witnesses were positive that no such badge was worn. ■Moyers, president of the Western ■Miners’ Federation 1 , underwent an operation, and a bullet was extracted froih his back. Ho declares that ho was both shot and clubbed when ho refused the citizens’ subscriptions to the relief fund.
