A CHARGE WITHDRAWN. \ [Per Press. Association.] Dannevirke, December 30. In respect to the arrest of a number of youths for alleged theft and receiving stolen property, '! heodore Brown, who was before the Court yesterday, had the charge of receiving withdrawn this morning before a Justice on the application of tiie police, who-were, satisfied there was no evidence against him. Brown was subsequently discharged.
HOTELKEEPER FOUND DEAD.
Gore, December 30
Thomas llupert Carroll, 55, licensee of the Mandcville Hotel, eleven miles from Gore, was found dead early this morning underneath a motor car. Carroll left Gore for Mandeville by motor car at 10 o'clock last night, and was found about two miles from Gore. Deceased' was well and popularly known throughout Southland. The deceased leaves a widow.
