A TIDAL WAVE. (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association,] (Reeded' 9.50 a.m.) Melbourne, December 27. The steamer Tndarra encountered a huge wave off the const. It swept the decks, twisted the bulwarks, smashed the boats, and did other considerable damage.
DISASTROUS BUSH FIRES.
Melbourne, December 25. The bush fires round. Aspendale and Chelsea made many families homeless. Many lost the whole of their belongings. Others were more lucky. ’They carried their household goods to the sea front. The sands were strewn for a distance of two miles with furniture from pianos and beds to fowls.
