Sporting men and those who love a pleasant day's outing with a spice of that excitement which the Sport of King's undoubtedly provides are looking forward to the Taranaki Jockey Club's summer meeting, to be held on Friday and Saturday of next week. The final payments, which closed last week, are excellent, and a very successful meeting is assured provided tlie climatic conditions are favourable. The club has made, many important improvements at the course during the past few months, and everything is now in first-class order for the meeting. The new outside stand is finished, and will be in use for the first time next week. It is convenient in every way, and commands an excellent view of the course. With the increased '
