REVENGING THE PANKHURSTS.
AN UNENVIABLE RECORD.
(Received 12.5 p.m.) London, December 15. Miss Sylvia Pankhurst has been released. . The proprietress of a Kow Gardens Tea Pavilion sued Olive \V harry and Lilian Lenton, suffragettes, for damages in connection with the burning of” the pavilion. One of the defendants admitted starting the fire. The case was settled by the suffragettes paying compensation. A timber yard at Devonport has been burned. The .damage is estimated at twelve thousand. A notice tied to a post read: ‘ln revenge for Mrs Panklmrst’s arrest.” . A meeting of Women’s Social Political Union sent a telegram to the King imploring Mrs Pankhurst’s release.
