Mr Cooper, secretary of the Employers' Association, is still taking names I of men prepared to work on the wharves as members of the Arbitration Union, but is not: sending additional men to Lyttelton at present. The available space on the houseboat, the Te Anau, is fully taxed. The strikers' and workers' organisations are directing all their attention to the by-election. It is stated that few labour votes will remain unpolled to-morrow. The general expectaton is that a Labourite and a Reformer will go to the second ballot, but the issue is very confused.
