STRATFORD RACING CLUB.

NOMINATIONS CLOSE TOMORROW.

.The Stratford Racing Club has increased the stakes for its Summer Meeting, to bo held on January Ist and 2nd, by £IOO, the total for the two days being £IOOS. which represents an advance of about £4OO during the last two years. The club retains its custom of presenting handsome trophies to the riders of the winners of the Farmers’ Plato and Ladies’ Purse. Owners will specially note that all nomination fees for the hack events are only 10s, which certainly means a very considerable saving. Following the lead of some of the large clubs, the committee has altered the distances in all races which heretofore were mile events, making them one mile and 100yds, with the exception of the Toko Welter, which has been brought down to seven furlongs. These alterations will allow of better starting, and obviate any possible crowding at ihe first bend. The programme is attractive', and owners and trainers are again reminded that nominations close with the Secretary, Mr Alfred Coleman, at 0 p.m. to-morrow, Wednesday, December 3rd. Those at a disance using the telegranh office should note that the Stanford Telegraph Offico closes at 8 p.m.
